Slow News Day?

Two items on the front page of http://www.ninemsn.com.au/ the Channel Nine news, and Microsoft Network homepage.

Cyber terror on the rise

The amazing part of this article is the information it provides for people wanting to go for a higher level of education:

Charles Sturt University associate professor Nick O’Brien’s research reveals a Google search of al-Qaeda brings up 17 million web pages of information, compared with 16 million for McDonald’s and 11 million for Coca-Cola.

Yes! You read that right people, doing two Google searches and comparing the amount of hits it returns is now considered research by a University Professor.

Even more fantastic is that anyone knows that Google search result figures are estimates and it's no way realistic to read the "Returned 17 million results" text.  Ever wondered why on your searches you can go a few pages and then it shows text saying that the rest of the results are too similar and have been omitted? Yeah.

But still people...

Step 1) Get into university

Step 2) Google

Step 3) ...

Step 4) Graduate!

The other piece of incredible news?

Hefner's number two girlfriend reveals benefits of Viagra

One of Hugh Hefner's girlfriends has revealed how the American sex icon manages to satisfy all of his lady friends at once.

Number two girlfriend Bridget Marquardt told the Nine Network's Richard Wilkins that Viagra was the Playboy magnate's secret to satisfying his personal harem.

Hef uses viagra, are we supposed to believe this is news, or of any entertainment value?

Sure, he's banging seven hot women, but he uses viagra? Poor, poor guy.

This is the kind of investigative journalism that makes Richard Wilkins such a fantastic entertainment reporter - because he asks the tough questions.
