Quitting Tumblr

written by Andrew Tobin on Monday, August 20 2007

There was just no real need for it.  Sure it's nice to have a place to aggregate, but since I can't move my feedburner feed to it, and it provides me no information on who is looking at me, it's no use.

Plus if anything it's probably pulling people away from my blog.

It would be okay as a very basic blogging platform, if you were starting out, basic bookmarking site - if you didn't want the networking features of del.icio.us, or basic small messaging - if you didn't want the social aspects of twitter.

Basically it does a little bit of everything, which could be okay if all you wanted was a basic quick set up site about a particular topic, but not much use to me right now.

Oh, and where the hell is the option to delete your tumble blog?!

I can't find it in any of the menus and I now have to delete all my posts by hand.

That sucks.
